Rain and Sun
Rain and sun,
Every hour like that;
Time's on the run,
With feeling in the caveat.
What have we found or lost,
To our searching;
What is the inside cost,
That's here around lurching.
Treat not on simple smiles,
All is in the minutes;
We have just those whiles,
That to the past aggregates.
Close not the heart inside,
Where it is drifting;
Love will for hours abide,
Before its abdicating.
Rain and sun,
Give each in fain;
A red rose has fallen,
From certainness and appertain.
What we are giving here,
All counts or nothing;
A pain is so austere,
When it is intervening.
Treat not my day with pain,
I have a heart true;
Understanding simple and plain,
Now it's just up to you.
What is there to give or share,
Each touch so intimating;
Love is the sweetest affair,
But we are still learning.
